IMPORTANT COVID-19 PROGRAM UPDATE!!!

PLEASE READ

To all our supporters:

Due to new regulations and changes being made at a state level, due to Covid-19, NW Live Well at Home will not be admitting any new respite clients.  This change is effective immediately and will last until we get authorization from the state that says otherwise.  We expect that this will be in effect until summer of 2021. If that changes, we will update everyone as soon as possible.

In the meantime all funding through the Live Well at Home grant, that our program is funded through the Department of Human Services, has been re-designated to allow for us to increase the number and size of home modification services we also provide.  Home modification will be our main focus for now.  We are able to continue purchasing assistive devices and coordinate modification projects to help people 55 and older stay in their homes more safely and help to prevent falls.  Bethany will be completing certification to be a Certified Aging in Place Specialist at a national level.  This will allow her to assist in modifying homes both for private pay clients on an income based sliding scale fee, and to develop modification plans for individuals on elderly waiver programs that will be funded through the state.

Please assist us on passing this information on as needed and please call or email Bethany with questions or to discuss this change in further detail.  We strongly rely on referrals from local health agencies and the public to address the needs of the people in our service area.  We are asking you all to help us find people in need of this service so we can serve our communities to the best of our abilities during this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Bethany Sandwick – Respite Coordinator
John Wynne – Housing & Planning DIrector
