HS/EHS POLICY COUNCIL

Join Policy Council.  Head Start Needs You!

  • What is it? Policy council is a group of HS/EHS parents and community members who work together to make decisions about Head Start & Early Head Start. Our goal is to have each center and EHS area represented by at least one parent.
  • What do they decide? Policy Council members approve all grant applications for the continuation
and/or expansion of the program. They also review the monthly budget, approve the hiring of all staff, and look at all aspects of Head Start and Early Head Start through the Self Assessment process.
  • When do they meet? Policy Council meets monthly either in-person at the main office in Badger or over Zoom.
  • Parents are important!   Without parents like you, who make a commitment to be involved in Policy Council, there would not be a Head Start or Early Head Start program.  We need parents to be actively involved in the decisions that make this program a great one for children and families.
Talk to your teacher or contact Sharon at the Head Start office today! 1-800-568-5319/ 218-528-3227 or smillner@nwcaa.org.
